Active as a conductor of instrumental
ensembles for over 36 years, Professor Harold Warman has instructed every
musical level from university graduates and professional musicians to
beginning students. His groups have performed at international music festivals
in Switzerland, with Suisse-Romain Radio broadcasting the concerts throughout
Europe. In addition, Mr. Warman has conducted performances in Germany,
Austria, Canada, Mexico, and Japan. Mr. Warman guest conducted the Japanese
National Brass Band Champions from Kanto Guikuin Academy of Yokohama,
Japan in the culminating performance of the Fete de Geneve in Geneva,
Switzerland.
Throughout his 26 years at San Diego State University (SDSU), Mr. Warman
has been frequently requested as a clinician/consultant and has directed
numerous honor bands. The instrumental performing groups at SDSU under
Mr. Warmans supervision include the Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band,
Concert Band, the Marching Aztecs, the Pep Band, and the Varsity Band.

Born in Southern California, Mr. Warman received his Bachelor
of Music and Master of Arts degrees form the University of Redlands. He
served for five years as a Vice President of the the Southern California
School Band and Orchestra Association (S.C.S.B.O.A.) and has served as
Western Division President of the College Band Directors National Association.
In addition, he has served as a consultant to the San Diego County Board
of Education Instrumental Music Programs: Academy for County Teachers
(IMPACT).
Mr. Warman is an honorary life member of S.C.S.B.O.A. and has received
the Gold Award of recognition and the Meritorious Service Award from that
organization. He has also received a Certificate of Appreciation from
the California Music Educators Association, SDSUs Meritorious Performance
and Professional Promise Award, an Outstanding Faculty Award from SDSUs
Cap and Gown chapter of Mortar Board, and the 2000 Outstanding Faculty
Award from the School of Music and Dance at SDSU.
