The San Diego State University Marching Aztecs
is one of the premiere marching bands in the nation. Renowned for its
musicality and commitment to excellence, this highly respected campus
organization performs in Qualcomm Stadium at all SDSU home football games,
as well as National Football League games, high school band tournaments,
and other campus and community events. The Marching Aztecs enter
the public arena as ambassadors of SDSU's standards of excellence; the
sights and sounds identifying an obvious focal point of Aztec pride and
spirit. Members of the Marching Aztecs represent over 30 academic
majors and hail from a wide variety of locales.

Membership in the Marching Aztecs requires competency
in basic levels of musicianship and marching. While the SDSU Drumline and Colorguard
does hold "placement auditions", there are no auditions required for the Marching
Aztecs winds. ALL Marching Aztecs wind, percussion, colorguard, and dance team members receive a stipend at
the end of the marching season (provided minimum attendance
and participation standards are met). Stipend amount is based on Marching Band enrollment; we anticipate that the 2009 stipend will be in the $250 to $300 range.
You do not need to be a matriculated SDSU student to march with us. Interested musicians and guard members can enroll in the Marching Band course (2 units) through the College of Extendend Studies for a special reduced course rate (forms available at Band Camp).
